April 26, 2015 By ASMR HQ 1 Comment

We have just started to create live recordings on Periscope. This is a new app released last month by Twitter and it is highly addictive. You can watch live recordings of just about anything. It is only available for the iPhone at the time of writing this post but it works on the iPad and […]

ASMR: Binaural Hearing Test Role Play

April 7, 2015 By ASMR HQ Leave a Comment

I thought I’d try my hand at creating a role play but I’m not too sure how this one went. I normally don’t like the rambling bit at the start of most hearing test role-plays…you know the bit where they take all the patient details…but lo an behold I found myself doing the same thing […]

We recorded this podcast while we were staying with my daughter, Varinia,on her  family’s vineyard in Stanthorpe. It is such a lovely spot so we thought it would be ideal to sit on the verandah and record.  Then we thought it would be even better if we walked around her garden while continuing to record, […]

For this podcast we decided to record sounds only so you will have no talking in this one apart from the intro music. We recorded this podcast using the Yeti microphone. Normally we would record with the Rode or 3Dio mics as they provide better sound quality. However the Yeti was all we had on hand at […]

Rode NT1A Microphone Tests

March 31, 2015 By ASMR HQ Leave a Comment

It’s been some time since we last uploaded a video to YouTube. The main reason is that we have been having issues with our microphones. When we would record we would get a lot of white noise which shouldn’t be happening for either of the microphones we are using – the Rode NT1a and the […]

What is ASMR?

ASMR is one of those things that is often difficult to explain because it is more of a feeling than anything else. ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and at its most simplest can be defined as a tingly sensation that is most often felt at the back of the head although it can also be felt down the back, arms and even the legs. That tingly feeling comes about due to certain audio or visual triggers like a tapping sound or the soft patter of the rain, the sound of someone whispering or watching someone performing a mundane repetitive task. It's a very soothing feeling and very relaxing.
