ASMR Binaural Sound Series #41: Cleaning the 3Dio Microphone

September 11, 2014 By ASMR HQ Leave a Comment

Our 3Dio Free Space Pro microphone was starting to look a little grubby so we decided it needed a good clean. Since I was doing it anyway, I thought I might as well record it for an ASMR video, so this is the result. It cleaned up quite nicely and looks like new again.

ASMR Microphone Test #2: Rode NT1A Microphone – Mostly Sounds (with just a bit of talking at the start and finish)

June 28, 2014 By ASMR HQ Leave a Comment

This is the second test I did for the Rode NT1a microphone. I angled the microphones a little more and spaced them a little further apart. I think it makes the left and right ear a little more defined. I am going to keep working on it to improve the sound as these are really […]

We were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to review the ASMR Sounds App which you can download in the iTunes App Store. It’s a great little app that allows you to customise your ASMR sounds. You can see how it works in the video.

ASMR Yeti Microphone Test – Includes tapping, crinkling and soft scraping sounds

September 21, 2013 By ASMR HQ Leave a Comment

This is my first on screen video. I thought it was time to get in front of the camera at least for some of the videos so started with a Yeti Microphone Test. The microphone arrived this week and I wanted to test it out as it has multiple options for creating sounds. I […]

What is ASMR?

ASMR is one of those things that is often difficult to explain because it is more of a feeling than anything else. ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and at its most simplest can be defined as a tingly sensation that is most often felt at the back of the head although it can also be felt down the back, arms and even the legs. That tingly feeling comes about due to certain audio or visual triggers like a tapping sound or the soft patter of the rain, the sound of someone whispering or watching someone performing a mundane repetitive task. It's a very soothing feeling and very relaxing.
